EA have announced a Star Wars: Battlefront Beta!
Coming early October to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, the Star Wars: Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will feature 3 game modes; “Walker Assault”, “Survival Mission” & “Drop Zone”.
A mixture of Gears of Wars Horde and Halo Firefight with some Star Wars cosplay thrown in for good measure… – Survival Mission Mode
As you would hope the “Walker Assault” game mode will feature Hoth, arguably the most iconic level from previous instalments of the game franchise. The 40-player multiplayer battle will include both Rebels and the Empire (both playable). Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe; Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
The Beta will also feature a “Survival Mission” on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces – I see this as a mixture of Gears of Wars Horde and Halo Firefight with some Star Wars cosplay thrown in for good measure… Sounds Epic!
In addition to those two modes, EA have revealed a brand-new mode that will be available in the Beta, “Drop Zone”. Details on this new game type have been promised in the coming weeks.
As present EA are keeping things close to their chests when it comes to how to sign up for the Beta but watch this space and we will let you know as soon details are announced…
