We recently covered Halo’s new REQ card feature (akin to Titanfall’s burn cards) and now, just a few weeks ahead of its scheduled release on October 27th, Microsoft has confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians has gone Gold.
The studio has officially completed the development of the main game and that it’s ready for its upcoming launch. (Ready being the contentious word here)
It’s not time for sunshine and cocktails just yet as 343 Industries are now pouring their efforts into the day-one update for Halo 5, which includes the additional multiplayer maps for the online modes Arena and Warzone.
For those buying the digital version, the pre-load will be available next week. Those who buy the disc will have to wait for the patch to transfer after they complete the installation. Which we hope is nothing near the Halo Master Chief Collection’s update time (nigh on two days for some of us).
343 Industries have stated they will continue with post launch releases, new monthly content and game types which would suggest they are following a similar approach to Bungie’s Destiny.
